How it works & the basics

Where do the prices come from?
On the deployed site, prices come from Greenfolio's server-side Yahoo Finance feed and refresh automatically every 60 seconds. A Twelve Data key can be added as an optional fallback. Market data may be delayed and is not an exchange-certified trading feed. ESG, carbon intensity, Scope 1/2 and net-zero data are illustrative sample figures based on public SEBI BRSR and CDP disclosures, for education only.
What is the Greenfolio 100 index?
An equal-weighted, illustrative index of the 100 NSE companies tracked here, based at 1,000. Its daily move is the average percent change of its constituents and recomputes on every refresh. It is not an official or investable index.
How does the basket value & P/L work?
When you add a stock, Greenfolio records the current price as your entry. Your notional amount is split by weight, converted to notional shares at entry, then revalued at the live price each refresh — so the basket value and unrealised P/L move with the market. Weighted ESG, carbon intensity, offset credits and cost recompute alongside.
What are carbon & EPR credits?
A carbon credit represents one tonne of CO₂e avoided or removed. EPR (Extended Producer Responsibility) credits cover plastic, e-waste and battery recycling obligations under India's 2022 waste rules. The Credit desk is a discovery board only — buyers and sellers transact directly.
